Paparazzi 1.2.1 Now Available in the App Store!

Download Paparazzi for iPhone and iPod Touch

What’s New

  • Stability: The new update fixes several nagging crashes which some of you have been plagued by in the Photo Annotation view (where you tag and add headlines). The older generation iPhones (2G and 3G) have limited system memory, and the result is that manipulating and resizing photos for upload can be a delicate operation.
  • Performance: Version 1.2.1 is optimized for the iPhone 3.0 OS and feels much quicker (especially for those lucky enough to own the new iPhone 3GS).
  • Album Uploads: This was introduced in the previous update, and allows uploads of any photo stored on you iPhone or iTouch.
  • Launch in Camera: There’s now a switch in the Accounts tab that enables starting the app directly to the camera (for the quick-draw Paparazzo).
  • Tagging and Headlines: Anyone or anything (including, but not limited to friends, yourself, your cat, and refrigerators) can now be tagged in Paparazzi. Also, tags and headlines are now optional. We would love you to use Paparazzi as your default photo uploader for Facebook and Twitter, and will continue to make improvements to this functionality with the help of your feedback.
  • Facebook Feed Stories: There are now three different options for publishing to your Facebook profile.
    • Do Not Publish: This will post nothing to Facebook, but will save your photos in a “pending” Facebook album called “Paparazzi Photos” for you to approve or reject at your leisure.
    • Publish Feed Stories: We have a new set of randomized Feed Stories which are editorialized bits of content to post to your Wall and to your News Feed. You’ll be shown a preview before anything is published. Photos also get save in a pending album for posterity.
    • Upload to a Facebook Album: This is the normal photo upload behavior for Facebook. No extra content will be added by Paparazzi.
  • Twitter: We recently acquired a rather awesome domain name (bom.bs) to create short URLs for Paparazzi Tweets, which behaves much like TwitPic. When you enter your Twitter account and password, Paparazzi will automatically Tweet the photo with a link like so: http://bom.bs/CQyLr4Vg and the headline (if you’ve added one). If you only want to publish to Twitter, simply set Facebook Publishing to “Do Not Publish.”

Stay tuned for more developments!
